Clammin’

IMG_1757

This afternoon we drove down the bay a mile to Playa Armenta to go clamming. We’d gotten held up by a lengthy conversation with some folks on the beach, so we missed the extreme low tide, but with 15 or 20 minutes of sifting through the sand with our hands, still managed to come up with enough clams for a good-sized and delicious appetizer for “cocktail hour” on the beach.

Here at Requeson, for the first time we’ve met a sizeable contingent of folks from Washington state. Two neighbors camped near us were from Sequim and Spokane, two couples from Whidbey Island came wandering along the beach at different times of day, and another couple from Corvallis arrived by taxi from Loreto to look at this beach. What’s with all the Washingtonians and other Northwesterns suddenly?
