Days of cruise: 278
Bob has been picky about coffee forever. In the late 1960s before the advent of Starbucks, he was buying whole beans from Pegasus Coffee at Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle and grinding his own before anyone else had heard of such a thing.
These days he drinks Martin Henry Coffee which we buy in Gig Harbor back home and have shipped to us 8 pounds at a time, primarily because they’re one of the few coffee roasters who makes a good decaf. He drinks mostly half-caff at the urging of his doctor, as he drinks 6-8 cups a day.
Early in our Loop Stephen on Jackets II had a cup of Bob’s coffee on Next To Me, loved it, and the tradition since then has been wherever we are, if Jackets and Next To Me are together, Stephen comes to our boat for his morning coffee. On Sanibel, Charlotte joined in too.
At 6:30 a.m. a text from Charlotte said “Ready for us?” and we had a relaxed visit for an hour in preparation for our departures to other ports.
At 8am we pulled off the dock, followed by Second Wind headed for Naples, then Jackets headed for Fort Myers. We’re not sure when we’ll see Jackets again, but expect to see Second Wind in Marathon next week.
Second Wind is a pretty pilothouse Ocean Alexander, and she passed us soon after leaving port.
