We’ve left Olalla again for the winter. The house-sitters are settled in, mail is being forwarded to sister Lynn, and we’re off to Baja for a third winter. We’re meeting up with two Canadian couples next Tuesday and will cross the border together Wednesday morning. More details on that plan later.
Meanwhile, we’ve just cranked out 600 miles last Thursday (overnight in Redding, CA) 600 more miles on Friday (overnight in Barstow, CA). We had originally planned to spend 3 nights or so camping in the Anza Borrego area of southern California, but the weather is much colder than we expected, so we put in 500 miles today to arrive in Tucson, Arizona at our friend Hobie’s home in the Saguaro National Forest. The past 3 days have been the least fun part of the trip, but we wanted to hit sunnier, warmer weather (sunny and 64 today) and have a quick visit with Hobie before crossing the border. We are happy and well.

If you didn't like the cold, you could've turned around and come home. The snow that fell this morning is rapidly melting now that the temperature is pushing 40! The talk of a real "snow event" later in the week; that's just speculation...
